Advice- Part 1

I am in the middle of packing for college right now. I go back on campus on the 13th of this month, so I won't have much time to write posts. However, I still want to make sure I publish one post a day. Until I can find the time to write, I will post college advice for anyone who needs it.

Surprises

My grandmother is over and she's usually not the type to keep her promises.

But now we have a new car.

Even though she keeps mocking me for not wanting to be called a kid.

I'm nineteen years old. I'm not a kid.

Definitely moving out for good now. Maybe people will treat me with more respect. Then again, maybe not.

Enduring

It is not possible to be 100% free of your past overnight. The first eighteen years of my life came back to me the weekend I came home, and it was too much for me to handle. I didn't try to remind myself of the good things in my life. I couldn't. But this is why I'm writing and making this blog.

Surviving

I've attempted suicide. Multiple times.

One of the most saddening things about having suicidal thoughts is that I'm asked why I want to die.

The truth is, I really don't.

Where To Go

As of right now, I am a second year college student going for a bachelor's degree in psychology. So I am nowhere near qualified to provide professional help. I am willing to chat with any of you who are going through a rough situation.

But for those who need assistance quickly, I've included an extensive list of hotlines after the jump. These not only include depression/suicide hotlines, but there are also numbers to call and websites to visit in case of (domestic/child/dating) abuse, bullying/cyberbullying, sexual assault, incest, rape, drug/alcohol abuse, youth/teen crisis, sexual health, pregnancy/abortion, teen parenting, LGBT issues, self harm, grief and loss, homelessness/runaways, eating disorders, mental illnesses, stress, anxiety, etc.

The following information comes from the Teen Heath and Wellness website.

Beginnings

What a cheesy title, huh? Unfortunately, I was not gifted with the ability to come up with great titles (my parents forgot to invite any fairies to my birth, so it's technically their fault). However, I find that skill less important than the content that follows. But let me introduce myself before we get into that.
